EveryDay Strong

EveryDay Strong

United Way of Henderson County is on a mission to help kids become EveryDay Strong.

EveryDay Strong is a program that equips caring adults with training and tools to support the mental health and wellness of children aged 8 to 18. The program promotes a simple, research-based framework that any caring adult can use to help build a sense of safety, connection, and confidence in young people.

Research shows that the most common factor in a child’s ability to develop resilience is a caring, supportive relationship with at least one adult. This may be a parent, or may be any concerned adult, including grandparents, teachers, friends, and neighbors.

Adults strive to be a dependable and trusted presence for the youth in their lives. But it can be hard. Saying the wrong thing may unintentionally close the door to the conversation before it is even open. Hesitating to be the person that a youth needs and wondering if they have the skills to communicate with youth can hold an adult back.

EveryDay Strong is designed to empower parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, and neighbors to support everyday resilience in the children around us. It promotes a simple, research-based framework that any caring adult can use to help build a sense of safety, connection, and confidence in young people.
